Brigalow Belt South Bioregion Geoscience Data Package (Revised version)

Abstract

The BBSB data CD contains GIS data, Reports, Maps and 3D models produced for the Resource and Conservation Assessment Council (RACAC) as part of the Western Regional Assessment of New South Wales. It includes reports for the Geology Integration and Upgrade (WRA19) and Mineral and Petroleum Resources and Potential (WRA20) projects that were completed by the Department of Mineral Resources for the BBSB Assessment. GIS formatted datasets include geology, geographical data, mineral occurrences and potential, site notes, geophysical data (TMI, DTM, Ternary Radiometric and Landsat). Apart from the geophysical images, these datasets have not been updated during the 2012 upgrade of this Data Package. All other datasets remain current to the original date of publication (Apr. 2003). Contact Geospatial for more information. Covers the NSW portion of the Brigalow Belt Bioregion with partial coverage across thirteen 1:250 000 sheets (Narromine SI/55-3, Dubbo SI/55-4, Singleton SI/56-1, Nyngan SH/55-15, Gilgandra SH/55-16, Tamworth SH/56-13, Walgett SH/55-11, Narrabri SH/55-12, Manilla SH/56-9, Moree SH/55-8, Inverell SH/56-5, St George SH/55-4 and Goondiwindi SH/56-1).

Comments

The GIS data contained in this Data Package was compiled for earlier (now unsupported) versions of ESRI & MapInfo GIS software. As a result, some of the customisation originally incorporated into these packages may not completely function in more recent ESRI & MapInfo GIS software. Also note that the GIS data in this package was originally compiled in 2003 using the now-superseded AGD66 datum but has been reprojected to the current (GDA94) datum as part of the October 2012 upgrade. This update includes: Reprojected GIS data (Transformed from AGD66 datum) to GDA_1994_MGA_Zone_55. Creation of MXD and PMF files for improved ESRI functionality. Updated workspaces for enhanced performance in more recent versions of Mapinfo. Creation of KMZ files for operability within Google Earth. Updated geophysical images Total Magnetic Intensity (TMI, 50m, 1VD RTP), Digital Elevation Model, Composite KUTh Radiometric, Landsat Image. ESRI/Arc Shapefiles, MXD and PMF - MapInfo Tables and Workspaces
