Abstract
The Gunnedah Coalfield Regional Geology Notes are prepared to accompany the Gunnedah Coalfield-South Regional Geology and the Gunnedah Coalfield-North Regional Geology 1:100 000 scale maps. The Gunnedah Coalfield Regional Geology Notes present an account of the Late Palaeozoic to Quaternary geology and the coal, petroleum and mineral resources of the Gunnedah Coalfield. The notes provide an overview of the geology presented on the map, detail the sources and interpretaion used. This also indicates problems or areas warranting further investigation. The Gunnedah Coalfield is presented under the following headings: Tectonic and structure, stratigraphy, igneous rocks, structure, coal resources, petroleum resources, metalliferous, industrial and construction resources.Reference
