Motorbikes can usually give you access to most areas on the farm. They are suitable for operations that involve livestock, such as mustering, or where you need a very manoeuvrable machine. They can be safe and comfortable in rough terrain. Some bikes have a rack for carrying a small load.

If a dangerous situation arises such as a bull deciding to charge, you can quickly get on the bike and move away. Similarly, it is convenient to be able to get off and on quickly where you need to open a gate. If the bike becomes bogged in mud, it is sufficiently light for you to drag it away.

Not all motorbikes are the same and not all operators are the same size; some machines are more suited to certain tasks or riders than others.
