
The NSW DPI Schools team would like to invite you to our Innovation in Agriculture 2022 Student event at the NSW DPI Wagga Wagga Agricultural Institute. The Innovation in Agriculture events showcase current Department of Primary Industries innovation, technologies and research. The day will see workshops in a range of industries. All workshops will link to NSW Syllabus outcomes in Stage 5 and 6 Agriculture.
The day will be suited for Year 10-12 learners. Students will rotate through all sessions throughout the day.
Workshops:
· Pathology and quarantine
· Growth chambers and plant physiology
· Canola heat chambers
· Pulse agronomy – identification etc
· Weeds
· Soils impact on sowing and growth
Participants to supply their own food and drinks throughout the day.
Clothing: enclosed shoes, sun protection (hats, sunscreen) plus jackets in case of adverse weather.
Schedules will be emailed to schools closer to the event. Date: Wednesday 24th August 2022. (Term 3, week 6)
Time: 9:15am- 3:00pm. Workshops start at 9:30am sharp Cost: $12.50/ student (including GST) Teachers accompanying students are free.
