The NSW DPI Schools team would like to invite you to our Innovation in Agriculture 2022 Student event at the NSW DPI Cowra Agricultural Research and Advisory Station. The Innovation in Agriculture events showcase current Department of Primary Industries innovation, technologies and research. The day will see workshops in a range of industries (cropping, red meat industry and pastures and sheep production). All workshops will link to NSW Syllabus outcomes in Stage 5 and 6 Agriculture.

The day will be suited for Year 10-12 learners. Students will rotate through all sessions throughout the day.

Workshops:

· Perennial wheat project

· Meat science

· Score 4 Sure- Qualitative live condition scoring in sheep

· Glasshouse precinct- growth chambers and plant breeding

Participants to supply their own food and drinks throughout the day.

Clothing: enclosed shoes, sun protection (hats, sunscreen) plus jackets in case of adverse weather.

Schedules will be emailed to schools closer to the event. Date: Tuesday 30th August 2022. (Term 3, Week 7)

Time: 10:00am- 2:30pm. Workshops start at 10:00am sharp Cost: $12.50 / student (including GST). Teachers accompanying students are free.
